| CEO Message |

Following a lengthy period of frenetic activity in trying to get everything ready, we were proud and honoured to
receive His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah
who officially opened the University Hospital Sharjah.
His Highness was accompanied by a large number of VIP Guests
from many parts of the world, the United Arab Emirates as well as Sharjah and unveiled a plaque to commemorate this historic event.
This was the culmination of a number of years of hard work by many people and was a great occasion in the short life of our Hospital.

There will, inevitably, be a period when we are still learning and we will always seek to improve on the services we offer to our Patients. We already have received high praise for our success with some extremely complex surgery and we hope to build on this on a regular basis. We have augmented our in house clinical teams with visits from eminent visiting doctors from both the Region and from Europe and this will continue to be the case. This enables some of the most complex and leading edge surgical techniques to be available to the local population.
We have also hosted our first International Conference in Paediatrics with a very impressive guest list of eminent speakers from all over the world. The visitors and delegates to this conference were also very complimentary about the Hospital and its facilities. Plans are already underway for next year’s conference as well as a number of other Conferences and Symposia. This is in line with our aim to become not only a centre of excellence but also to emphasise the importance of continuing education, debate and learning in the persuit of continuing to improve our standards.
We are now well on the way to developing our services and have recently introduced a number of new specialties. We are encouraged by the response we have received from patients and introduced some packages of care at substantial discounts for certain conditions and these are likely to increase over the next few months. We have made some introductory offers – particularly for patients who wish to deliver their babies at our Hospital – which offer our luxurious services and facilities at affordable prices.
While we continue to excel in the provision of professional services by our internal medical team, we have started to net-work and open our facilities for treatment by reputable referral medical personnel in the Region, and accept t clinical referrals whenever feasible.
This is an exciting time for all of us and the Team at the University Hospital Sharjah should take great credit for the achievement of the Hospital opening – but it is now the hard work begins to establish ourselves and our reputation!
