There are many different conditions that are known as mental illnesses — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Few of the common mental illnesses: Bipolar disorder, Persistent depressive disorder, Generalized anxiety disorder, Major depressive disorder, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Schizophrenia, Social anxiety disorder.

Mental health controls how you think, feel, and behave in daily life. It affects how we sense, feel, and act. There are certain psychological and behavior aspects that make people vulnerable to mental health problems.

Bipolar Disorder is different from depression. The reason it is included in this list is because someone with bipolar disorder experiences episodes of extreme low moods (depression). But a person with bipolar disorder may also experience extreme high moods (called “mania”).
