Dr Al-Amad holds the Australian Board in Oral Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the special field of Oral Medicine. He has an extensive experience in treating patients with oral diseases, oro-facial pains, and disorders of the jaw joint (known as Temporomandibular Joint Disorders TMD). He built his experience while working at Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (Australia), and the University Dental Hospital Sharjah (UAE). Dr. Al-Amad is also an Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah and an active researcher in the fields of Oral Medicine, infection control, and medico-legal issues. He has been serving on the licensing committees of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, as well as on the Licensing Board of Dubai Healthcare City. Dr Al-Amad is also a qualified Forensic Dentist who holds a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Odontology from the University of Melbourne (Australia). He has been providing forensic testimonies on many forensic and criminal cases to police organizations and courts in Australia and Jordan. In 2010, he was summoned by the UAE’s Ministry of Interior to train the first professional team of Forensic Dentists in Abu Dhabi Police. Dr Al-Amad was awarded the Australian Federal Police Operations Medal for his role in identifying the victims of the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2005. Dr Al-Amad is the Chairman of the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Research Ethics Committee of Dubai Healthcare City. In 2018, Dr Al-Amad was selected to be an International Surveyor working for Accreditation Canada.
