Moments filled with warmth and hope, Sharjah Sports Club players brought smiles to the faces of children at University Hospital Sharjah, showcasing the true essence of generosity and community solidarity.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the UAE Supreme Council, to equip Sharjah with the latest technologies and advanced medical devices, University Hospital Sharjah has been furnished with a High-Field Open MRI device (1.2 Tesla). The official inauguration of the MRI department was attended by H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of University Hospital Sharjah, alongside Mr. Michio Kondo, General Manager of Fujifilm Middle East, and Mr. Kinjal Zaveri, CEO of "One Health" Group. This device, the first of its kind in the Middle East and the UAE, represents a significant addition to healthcare services, reaffirming the hospital’s position as a leading center for advanced medical services. The device is designed to enhance the patient experience, particularly for individuals with claustrophobia, overweight patients, and children.

The management and staff of University Hospital Sharjah were honored to receive the award from the Breastfeeding Friendly Association of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, for their efforts by maintaining the requirements of the baby friendly hospital.

The announcement was made during a press conference held in the conference hall of University Hospital Sharjah, attended by H.E Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muhairi, Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority and Chairman of Board of Trustees, UHS and H.E. Khalid Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club, along with members of the Investment Company and the Executive Director of University Hospital Sharjah. This renewal reflects the strong relationship between University Hospital Sharjah and the club, as well as the mutual benefits achieved over the past four years. Under the agreement, the hospital will provide comprehensive medical care and solutions for the athletes, including pre-competition medical evaluations, as well as necessary treatments and care for players.

UHS has been accredited as a “Baby Friendly Hospital” for the third time. University Hospital Sharjah has been accredited as a “Baby Friendly Hospital” for the third time. This recognition was achieved after the hospital successfully met the quality healthcare standards and the dedicated effort of the medical team, nursing and midwifery department. The World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF”, represented by the National Assessors Committee under the Ministry of Health and Prevention, announced the hospital’s fulfillment of the title’s criteria. This accomplishment reflects the hospital’s adoption of a breastfeeding policy, the development of a training system for hospital staff, and the establishment of a supportive environment for mothers to ensure and promote breastfeeding, and the provision of antenatal and postnatal educational sessions
