- Dr. Alalkim is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology with extensive experience in diagnosing, managing, and treating a wide range of liver and gastrointestinal conditions. Her comprehensive training includes two prestigious fellowships: one in Gastroenterology at McMaster University and another in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at the University of British Columbia. As well as her experience working as specialist registrar at John Radcliffe Hospital at the University of Oxford. She has more than 17 years of experience in medical practice and is a member of several prestigious international societies

Liver diseases & Liver Transplantation:
- Dr. Alalkim is one of the very few Liver Disease specialists (Hepatologists ) in the United Arab Emirates
- She is highly experienced in management of all forms of liver disease. Such as, liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, alcoholic liver disease
- Recognising the increasing prevalence of fatty liver disease related to diabetes and obesity, she has developed unique ways of treating fatty liver and its associated metabolic conditions using combination of weight loss technique and medication, these include the use of GLP-1 agonist drugs
- She is one of the very few qualified hepatologists in the UAE, capable of evaluating, counselling and managing patients and living donors for liver transplantation
Gastroenterology:
- Dr. Alalkim’s expertise include disorders of swallowing, digestion, absorption, reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease ( Crohn’s Disease & Ulcerative Colitis ). She works closely with colorectal surgeons for management of patients with long standing and complex IBD
