
UHS has been accredited as a “Baby Friendly Hospital” for the third time.
University Hospital Sharjah has been accredited as a “Baby Friendly Hospital” for the third time. This recognition was achieved after the hospital successfully met the quality healthcare standards and the dedicated effort of the medical team, nursing and midwifery department.
The World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF”, represented by the National Assessors Committee under the Ministry of Health and Prevention, announced the hospital’s fulfillment of the title’s criteria.
This accomplishment reflects the hospital’s adoption of a breastfeeding policy, the development of a training system for hospital staff, and the establishment of a supportive environment for mothers to ensure and promote breastfeeding, and the provision of antenatal and postnatal educational sessions

حصل مستشفى الجامعة بالشارقة على لقب “مستشفى صديق للطفل” للمرة الثالثة، حيث جاء هذا الإستحقاق بعد نجاح المستشفى في تحقيق معايير الرعاية الصحية النوعية المقدمة، والعمل الدؤوب من الكوادر الطبية وقسم التمريض والقبالة.
حيث أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية والأمم المتحدة للطفولة “اليونيسيف”، المتمثلة في اللجنة الوطنية للأمومة والطفولة بوزارة الصحة ووقاية المجتمع، إجتياز المستشفى لمتطلبات اللقب.
ويأتي الإنجاز ثمرة لإعتماد المستشفى لسياسة الرضاعة الطبيعية، وإعداد نظام تدريبي للعاملين في المستشفى، وتحقيق بيئة داعمة للأمهات لضمان الرضاعة الطبيعية وتعزيزها، بالإضافة إلى تقديم دروس تثقيفية أثناء الزيارات الدورية في فترة الحمل وبعد الولادة.
