University Hospital Sharjah is officially the medical sponsor for Sharjah Sports Club for the 2022/2023 season, with the aim of providing necessary medical care to all their players of various categories at the highest medical rehabilitation to help them improve the performance. Bariatric Surgery is Not A Plastic Surgery and Contributes to Diabetes Treatment

Dr. Tariq Ibrahim Mahdi, Head of the Department and Consultant of General and Bariatric Surgery at the University Hospital Sharjah, confirmed that studies have proven that 92% of diabetic cases are treated if modern bariatric operations are performed and that the number of surgeries for all types of obesity in the hospital is 50 operations per month.

During the first quarter of 2022, the University Hospital in Sharjah received many critical cases and infections with the Coronavirus in patients over the age of 70, and it was able to achieve success rates that exceed the global average rates in intensive care units.

UHS Demonstrates Its Expertise With Successful Neurosurgery For Rare Lesion

In line with its vision to offer world-class healthcare services, the University Hospital Sharjah performed a successful neurosurgery for a rare type of bone tumor in the skull known as ‘Osteoid Osteoma.’ The procedures were carried out by experts from neurosurgery, as well as plastic surgery. The 61-year-old patient had presented with a two-centimeter-long painful swelling on her forehead. As the diagnostic procedures progressed, it was discovered that the lesion was both internal and external. The patient was advised to undergo immediate excision, and experts were notified, with the surgery being led and performed by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Jesrani, Specialist Neurosurgeon who comes with 13 years of clinical experience in the field of Neurosurgery, is also a member of World Spinal Column Society. The team was successful in approaching the lesion beneath the hairline and performing a complete tumor excision Due to its position on the forehead, the lesion required additional cosmetic care after the successful surgery. Consequently, Dr. Noh, a certified plastic surgeon, was brought in to perform the cosmetic treatments on the lesion.  Dr. Ali Obaid Al Ali, UHS Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Trustees, stated: The University Hospital Sharjah decided to develop its own sub-specialized surgery plans, as we are equipped with pioneering professional consultants and advanced operation theaters.
